St. James Community Church Alpharetta is a vibrant congregation that celebrates all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds. The church began over 150 years ago and continues to value and share the richness of its African American Heritage. St. James remains one of the fastest-growing congregations in Alpharetta. About the Ministry

The Children, Middle School, and Youth Ministry (CMY) is full of students who lead worship on Youth Sunday, serve in leadership roles, and desire to grow deeper in their faith. CMY is led by dedicated, passionate, and dependable servant leaders who consistently show up, build relationships, and guide students in their faith journey.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced, organized, forward-thinking person who will equip servant leader volunteers to guide children and youth to grow spiritually, lead through service, honor God, and walk in truth.

Key Responsibilities

– Provides spiritual and visionary leadership to develop, coordinate, and empower laity in all areas of CMY Ministries.

– Plans activities and coordinates, articulates, and implements the vision for CMY.

– Develops a comprehensive plan for the recruitment, mobilization, and utilization of volunteer servant workers within the CMY Ministry.

– Establishes relationships with local middle and high school principals and administrators to build a church presence within the educational community.

– Assists the pastoral staff with spiritual counseling and pastoral care to children and youth

Qualifications
– Strong spiritual and moral character. Must possess a demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith.

– Must have the ability to deal maturely and calmly with the public, including all conversations in a clear and pleasant manner and follow written and oral instructions with little supervision.

– Maintain confidentiality and discretion with matters related to the ministry.

– Punctuality and accountability are absolute requirements.
