Average Sunday Attendance: 100
About Us:
We’re a warm, welcoming, and close-knit rural church family looking for a shepherd who feels called to serve, teach, and lead us in faith. We’re not about titles or fancy degrees—we’re about heart, authenticity, and aligning with God’s calling. If you’re passionate about loving people, growing disciples, and living out biblical truth, we’d love to meet you!
What We’re Looking For:
A True Shepherd: Someone with the primary spiritual giftings of teaching, leading, pastoring, and faith who genuinely cares for their flock.
Mature Faith: We’re open to candidates of any age or gender as long as they demonstrate spiritual maturity and a deep relationship with Jesus.
Biblical Knowledge: Formal education is a bonus, but it’s not a dealbreaker. We value a strong calling to ministry above a diploma.
Traditional Christian Values: The shepherd must hold to and teach traditional Christian values, living a life that reflects biblical truth and aligns with Scripture.
Cultural Fit: Understanding and appreciating rural church life is a must. We want someone who will embrace our church traditions and become part of the family.
Commitment to Discipleship: We’re passionate about equipping our members for spiritual growth, especially our youth. You should be, too!
A Restful Leader: We value a shepherd who practices Sabbath, knows how to rest, and is intentional about being still with the Lord. This leader should have excellent time management, avoid overwork, and model healthy rhythms of work and rest for the church.
Team Builder: Someone who knows how to delegate, develop, and champion others to activate their spiritual gifts. We want a shepherd who shares the load of caring for the church body to prevent burnout and foster a thriving, Spirit-led community.
Experience: Experience in a similarly sized rural church is a plus, but we’re open to someone with a strong calling and a teachable spirit.
The Details:
Hours and Pay: Full-time role with a base salary of $55-65K, negotiable based on experience. A cost-of-living increase will be added annually. Additional benefits like health insurance, travel expenses, and opportunities for continuing education are negotiable.
Bonus Qualities We Love:
Approachable, empathetic, and a great listener.
Willing to show up for people during life’s highs and lows—whether that’s a hospital visit, a nursing home prayer, or being present during a crisis.
Skilled in handling conflict biblically and maintaining a healthy, stable personal and family life.
Passionate about empowering others, cultivating a culture of servant leadership, and distributing responsibilities across the church body.
If this sounds like the kind of ministry where you’d thrive and you feel called to Rush Hill, we’d love to hear from you! Let’s start a conversation about how we can grow in Christ together.
